Tiny Biography

I’ve been fascinated by psychology and relationships for as long as I can remember. When I was a little kid, I’d stare up at my mom’s office shelves full of psychology books, wanting to know it all and put it to good use. As a second-generation therapist, I have an intuitive sense of the work, built up over decades.

I studied literature in college, and then worked in exhibit design. These experiences influence my approach to therapy — I love to incorporate books, words, creativity, art and narrative. And I love to work collaboratively and pragmatically.

After a solo trip through India, I was compelled to return to my instinctive roots. I received my Masters in Social Work at the University of Michigan. At the Child Advocacy Law Clinic, I worked intensively with mothers managing family crises and post-traumatic stress disorder. While associated with a local outpatient center, I treated adults diagnosed with depression and anxiety who were also struggling with relational conflicts. At Starfish Family Services, I worked intensively with teenagers, children and parents who were managing complex problems and severe mental health symptoms ranging from social anxiety to trauma to depression. My clients included teenagers who were questioning their sexual orientations and gender identities. In 2019, I opened my private practice around the corner from my favorite ice cream shop.
